Was "Shadow Guy" ever revealed?

At the end of season one Braga gave an interview that said he knew who he was and that they could have revealed him in Shockwave but didn't believe that there was a creative reason to do it at that point. He went on to say that he and Berman had mapped out some directions that allowed them some flexibility in their storytelling.

When "The Expanse" aired he also mentioned that by tying in the Xindi attack to the TCW he could explore FG. In an interview at the start of season three though he teased us with the idea we would learn both the Xindi FG and the Suliban FG possibly in season three.

Ultimately season three really had nothing to do with the TCW and in the end I believe on the season one DVD they admitted they had no idea who he/she/it was. Some possibilities they threw out including Archer's father and a future Borg.

Kinda what has already been said. It seemed that they had an idea on who he was by the end of season 1, but as the story continued on, their ideas changed and who Future Guy was became a blank slate again. By the time of season 4, no one on the production staff cared anymore about the Temporal Cold War, and moved on from it.

Personally, I like how we never knew who he was. Makes it more menacing.

*snerk* If you say so.

I do say so. Perhaps menacing isn't the correct word, but I do like it that it wasn't explained for whatever reason and it really added something that wouldn't have been there had FG been revealed. Besides, if we did ever have a reveal, it probably would have been disappointing for at least some section of the fan base.

Romulan? Oh, totally predictable! Fire B&B for not being creative!
New Alien? WTF?! We wanted Romulans! Fire B&B for not being creative!
Shatner? Ack, ratings stunt! Fire B&B for not being creative.
Daniels? Oh, they totally recycling ideas from Voyager! Fire B&B for not being creative.

Having it left open is probably the best option the show could have.

You know that Rosebud wasn't a Sled right?

There's a thread over in general scifi at the moment asking "us" when we thought that Lucas admitted that the Senator Palpatine was really Darth Sideous. It's hard to please everyone, but this is a lack of effort nieghbouring on a dead beat dad forgetting he's driving the kids to Mount Splashmore and just goes to the track instead.

Then. They've been doing the same thing about the mystery behind the scenes badguiy in battle star galactica for quite some time now... O, actually they've done it twice, first for the the face of any cylons, and now for the final 5 who really fucked me up when that came to the fore int he finale last season.

Even the slasher from Nip/Tuck was an incredible tangled piece of story telling that had so many red herrings in play that most obvious answer to "whoisit?" became more obviously unlikely since they would never be that on the nose obvious? but that worked out fine too. :)

Isn't it nice to live in a world where we know who Deepthroat is?

Shadowguy was obviously Porthos.

And so, there was no way to guess whether a particular development was good or bad. Or whether we the audience should be rooting for Daniels to fail or for him to be ripped apart molecule by molecule. All we did know was if we were told something last Temporal Cold War episode, it would be cancelled out by something this Temporal Cold War episode, and at the end all parties will return to their dugouts without any obvious score on either side.

7 years of Voyager's disjoint and continuity twigged me onto all that 5 minutes after I finished watching Broken Bow. The Big picture is depressing, so just enjoy each episode as if nothing happened before or after it's airing.

Kirsty Alley's Saavik was Future Guy.

Even the writers of DS9, which everyone seems to put on a high pedestal, just made it up as they went along. They had absolutely no plan either, no idea what would develop from a premise used in the first episode. They just did a better job of covering their tracks when arcs were abandoned. Bajor joining the Federation anyone?

The key to success here would seem to be having no network breathing down your neck. UPN insisted an element like the Temporal Cold War, something as futuristic as TNG/VOY be apart of Enterprise, or else there would've been no show.

I always figured they'd reveal Future Guy as a Romulan at some point. But why a Romulan, other than to satisfy my fanboy wishlist for the race to be important to ENT? Well consider the reasons why he bothers to conceal his appearance. Those he has spoken to like Silik and Archer obviously aren't supposed to positively identify him... Suggesting that if the person's reveal isn't important then his species is. In a line of dialogue from Broken Bow, he states they weren't supposed to involve the Humans or the Vulcans, which implies that he's neither of these. He was basically responsible for genetically altering members of the Kabal, probably like what happened to the Remans. Then there was the stealth technology used by Suliban cell ships. But of course, there weren't going to be further seasons in which this could all be panned out. Since interference from the TCW led to important events like first contact with the Klingons and the Xindi incident, it would've made sense for another faction to be messing with Romulan history too.

Since the cancellation of ENT, has it been revealed who the shadow guy was?
Nope.

And the way the Suliban plot developed (or more accurately, didn't develop), I couldn't care less who he was.
