Favourite Movie Easter Egg - Spoilers Potentially

When JJ inserted R2D2 into the battle scene. And any film that uses the line, "I've got a bad feeling about this," in tribute to Indiana Jones.

Dr. Strangelove has a treasure trove one one liners easter eggs, notably:

[last lines]
Dr. Strangelove: Sir! I have a plan!
[standing up from his wheelchair]
Dr. Strangelove: Mein Führer! I can walk!

[after learning of the Doomsday Machine]
President Merkin Muffley: But this is absolute madness, Ambassador! Why should you *build* such a thing?
Ambassador de Sadesky: There were those of us who fought against it, but in the end we could not keep up with the expense involved in the arms race, the space race, and the peace race. At the same time our people grumbled for more nylons and washing machines. Our doomsday scheme cost us just a small fraction of what we had been spending on defense in a single year. The deciding factor was when we learned that your country was working along similar lines, and we were afraid of a doomsday gap.
President Merkin Muffley: This is preposterous. I've never approved of anything like that.
Ambassador de Sadesky: Our source was the New York Times.

General "Buck" Turgidson: Mr. President, we must not allow a mineshaft gap

^ I'm afraid I don't see the Easter eggs in those Strangelove lines.

I suppose. It's dependent upon what your definition of,"easter eggs," is. I suppose they are more just sarcastic dialogue that is a commentary on the issues of the day when the film was made.

I'll stick with R2 in Trek as my recent personal favorite then. Was the ship that looked almost like the Falcon in Trek Into the Darkness a legitimate easter egg? Also knocking off the antenna?

Yes, but the references weren't even hidden is the thing. They were in plain sight. Lampooning the Cold War was the main point of the film. Easter eggs are typically hidden in the background somewhere, because the point is to hunt for them.

I think the easter egg there is that it may well be the same ship Mudd flew in the TOS episode "Mudd's Woman", minus a golden shield. Click!

Nice comparison shot.

I just found this:

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Mudd_Incident

Which doesn't make any sense considering the Mudd Incident should just have been the actual episode, which was one of the first missions of the Enterprise anyway.

I've gotten to the point where I cringe every time the Wilhelm scream is used.

Ugh, tell me about it. It takes me out of whatever I'm watching, every single time.

To add to the list:

Days of Future Past had a subtle one -- Wolverine is naked at the end of his time travel trip. It's the exact same thing that happens whenever someone from the future travels to the past in the Terminator movies.

Godzilla had references to a couple legendary monsters like Rodan in the classroom and the name Mothra by a tank. The flying MUTO also has a fighting style that evokes Megaguirus.
