Star Trek and Volkswagen...

I've liked VW's for a long time. I really like the new Golf.

My first car was a '79 VW Rabbit L 2dr. in a really nice Diamond Silver metallic. I loved that car and it was a blast to drive--made me feel like 007. :) I still have the wooden gearknob with the Rabbit logo on it as a souvenir.

Can Patterns of Force be shown in Germany yet?

I think the original Pontiac TransSport commercials (with Patrick Stewart's voice) made more sense, I mean that van did look like it could qualify as a ST shuttlecraft, and I saw one during the Berlin premiere of ST VI-TUC where the owners had added ST markings in such a professional manner that you would have thought it was an exclusive TransSport series. :techman:

1st shot - notice how the bike in the background echoes the shape of the Enterprise in the boy's hand.
The movers are all wearing red shirts; A box says "Northstar" which is the name of company that makes ST models.
Shatner wearing a "gold" sweater; house number is "1701".
5th-6th shot - The boy's ST collection consists almost entirely of TOS memorabilia, inc. posters from the Ortiz book, and tribbles on the floor! Is that inflatable globe a reference? What is that logo on the wall in lower left corner - a TAS reference?
8th shot - kid is indeed wearing an Abrams-era gold uniform.
Number plate starts "WOB..." - if only it was WOK. Nimoy's plate starts the same way.
In-car player displays image of TOS-style Enterprise - is this from the CG remake?
Nimoy wears appropriate blue top.

This site says Shatner says "Like a spaceship" and Nimoy says "Fascinating".

There are a couple of behind-the-scenes interviews, plus this below. Shatner goes through the room's contents with the kid (not clear whether this is the kid's stuff). The rack of phasers on the wall is best bit IMO.

I belive the WOB on the license plate refers to the city where the car's are registered.

Wolfsburg is where VW's headquarters are.
