Voyager is picking up speed! Only seven months have passed since Protectors beamed onto bookshelves, vs. 16 months between it and The Eternal Tide. Author Kirsten Beyer clearly has been busy. Sounds like her sixth consecutive Voyager novel will requaint us with some factions previously encountered on the TV show, which has been a regular request by the readership.

Blurb:

An original novel set in the universe of Star Trek: Voyager—and the sequel to the New York Times bestseller Protectors!

Admiral Kathryn Janeway has now taken command of the Full Circle Fleet. Her first mission: return to the Delta Quadrant and open diplomatic relations with the Confederacy of the Worlds of the First Quadrant, a civilization whose power rivals that of the Federation. Captain Chakotay knows that his choices could derail the potential alliance. While grateful to the Confederacy Interstellar Fleet for rescuing the Federation starships from an alien armada, Voyager’s captain cannot forget the horrors upon which the Confederacy was founded.

More troubling, it appears that several of Voyager’s old adversaries have formed a separate and unlikely pact that is determined to bring down the Confederacy at all costs. Sins of the past haunt the crew members of the Full Circle Fleet as they attempt to chart a course for the future. Will they learn much too late that some sins can never be forgiven…or forgotten?

Who else ever thought that a highlight of the year as a Trek fan would be something to do with VOY? Kirsten MF Beyer is a goddess of Trek for such a turn-around of a series!

Given that this is the sixth one, I've gotten pretty familiar with Voyager being the highlight of the year in Star Trek

My local store has a copy. One copy! It'll be mine! I'm on my way right now...

eh????? in Italy Amazon will let me download it only on 30 september is not fair!!!

Hello friends,

If I might, I would like to make a personal request now that the book is apparently out there in the world.

I would really appreciate it if those coming in to review and discuss the book, especially in the early days and weeks, would use spoiler codes for all of the story's major revelations. I just want as many readers as possible to go into this one cold and experience it as it unfolds. Personally, I think it will really enhance the reading experience.

Best,
KMFB

We will Kirsten :) as for myself i live for spoilers lol, i will click any of them . for me personally more spoilers i read more interested i am to read it with my own eyes. I am weird i know lol

You are right, I too should be use to it. Praying that sometime soon I can feel the same way about DS9 books again.

Just got my copy. I'm sure i'll blow through in no time. Can't wait :techman:

No way!! You guys in the States are so lucky, here in England we don't have a prayer of getting anything early! I'm eagerly awaiting the 30th but there is a possibility that I'll leave it until the October 20th and I get a week off college.

My problem with Trek Lit - specifically Ms. Beyer's work - is that I have to go all-in when I read them. It will take me a couple of days to blast through the entire thing and then I'll be zoned out for the rest of the week; and I'll probably re-read it in that time, too.

Who am I kidding, I'm never going to be able to wait! But it is flu season... there is always a very real accidental possibility that I could well and truly be extremely ill for the week commencing the 29th.

I'm afraid if that happened I would have a duty to the rest of my flat to lock myself in my room and lie in bed all day.

Yes, a very real possibility....

^I'm very much NOT from the States. I'm a proud Canadian through and through.

AoC is fantastic. I hope you like it, and I hope you start to feel worse on the 29th...and then miraculously better after page 390 ;)
