USS Titan Bridge Floor Plan

It's an interesting design.

It may not be as how described in the books, but ships of the same class have very different styles of Bridge modules (I'm thinking of the E-D and the Odyssey).

One question I have. On the port and starboard side there are two doors in line with the Command Arena. On the Port side it shows that both doors lead to turbolifts, is it the same on the Starboard? If so, it seems a little bit excessive IMHO.

I would imagine they're also turbolifts or perhaps access to other areas- the bathroom. Even in the 24th century people need to take a leek. Maybe another room is Troi's wardrobe. I don't know if she remains in uniform in Titan or still wears the bunny suit.:rommie:

There's also the whole Airlock adjacent to the Bridge thing (which never made any sense to me).

I'm sure there are a couple of TNG episodes where two background crewmembers go into the Head together...always seemed a little suspicious to me

I'd hope not. She is getting on a bit :)

I have only read 2 Titan novels and never got an idea of the bridge. As I explained at the beginning of this thread I have not based it on the novels since it isn't canon.

Here's a nearly completed 3d drawing- note I added a counsellor's chair in the end.
You do recognize the name of the poster you responded to here, yes?

Yes I am well aware that Sean won the contest to design the ship. I'm subscribed to his work on DeviantArt. Why do you ask?
You seemed to question the design as described to you by the designer of the ship whose bridge you're building.

I'm not questioning anyone's design. There is no official design. And even if Sean did make one -unless CBS approve it as official like the Titan itself -then I don't see a problem with designing my own.

I only reiterated that my design isn't based on the books- since I haven't read enough of them to get a feel of the layout.

Then why make it the Titan's bridge at all? Why not the USS Solarbaby or any other ship for which there is not an existing description?

I really wish people would read the first post. Its for Star Trek Ascension, an animated series. (The Titan has a small cameo appearance in it.) I wanted a bridge in the style of the sovereign class.
I only wished to show my ideas for how I would imagine the Titan's bridge had it ever been made into a real series. I don't see what the beef is.

One Problem with your design, Riker's Ready room is at the aft of the bridge. the Observation lounge is indeed in the front. I would go back to a single Command chair in the center. That is one part of the Voyager bridge design I did not like. the books describe the Titan bridge as looking like a smaller version of the Soverign Class Bridge.

I just realised what you meant. Duh! You designed the ship that way. I thought you was referring to the way the novels described the bridge.

I haven't seen a large scale drawing of the dorsal hull to interpret where the ready room and observation lounge is. Can you link me to one. Maybe I can adjust the doors to fit in with the official Luna class

^^^ That's why I made that one statement. Sorry...Guess I should have been more specific in that regard.

Here is a link to the printers proof from the printed book, with call outs hopefully this helps. http://stourangeau.deviantart.com/gallery/445973#/d16lyob

Thats too small to see any detail of the bridge. It's just oval shape. So I'm just guessing.

I adjusted the bridge to have the ready room and observation lounges at the rear of the bridge. I also removed 2 turbolifts.

Here is a closer shot of the exterior of the Bridge module for you.
From the official schematics. Hope this helps a little with the exterior shape
and windows.

Oh and when we were designing the final layout for the book. Marco Palmeri the Editor at S&S at the time said that the Observation Lounge was in front of the bridge and the Readyroom was by itself at the back. Where you have the doors on the right Aft of the Bridge would be perfect for the Turbo Lift Doors and the door that leads to Rikers Readyroom is fine.

Just my advice based off of what we did for the exterior window configuration of the ship. I originally had the Observation Lounge in the back but since it was mentioned to be at the front in the first book Marco had me switch it.

Hopefully that helps.

That confused me more lol. This is the final version I am happy with. On reflection some of the suggestions offered were good. Such as too many turbolift doors and the ready room location.
