The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Watched the first four episodes with the wife. Outside of the setup, I felt it was very cookie cutter. Especially with Jane Krakowski playing essentially the same character she played in 30 Rock.

I had similar problems with her character. But she kind of evolves (I won't say grows, because a character like that doesn't grow) and gets more interesting.

Just watched the first few episodes on NF.

Pretty fun, quirky, show. I like Ellie Kemper, found her funny in the 21 Jump Street movie as the chemistry teacher. She does a great job here with her quirkiness, facial expressions and I like her odd reactions to various "modern" things and use of language.

I would have thought under the premise of the show she was isolated from society a lot longer but she went in when she was 14 or so. which fairly old enough to have something of a grasp of society and reality (and arguably have enough of an education to be a somewhat productive member of society.) From pre-release info I would have thought she was isolated a lot longer, like since she was a child and was given a basic education while underground.

Sort of like Brendan Fraiser in that movie where his parents raised him in a fallout shelter for 30 years until he was released.

Overall, though, find the show fun and will continue with it.

I just started watching this show and I'm liking it so far. I'm 3 episodes in and yeah it does remind me of 30 Rock. I wouldn't call it funny, per say, but I do love it's positivity and the lead actress is incredibly like able. Looking ford to getting deeper into it.

Ok, Titus taking straight guy lessons was hilarious.

Also glad Logan is out of the picture as I did find him a little annoying.

One of the nice things about this show is it's less than 30 minutes so if you are binge watching it, it doesn't take a lot of time. Only have 3 episodes left. I might rewatch the series closer to season 2, but I think overall, I'm a fan. I wanted a show in the same vain as 30 Rock and Parks and Rec (I miss those shows so much), and I think this one fits the bill.

"Did you hear that, everyone? There isn't going to be an Entourage 2!"

*Bar crowd erupts into cheers and applause*

One of my favorite episodes from this series.

Jon Hamm as the Reverend might be the best thing ever. Of course it reminds me of his doofus character on Parks and Recreation, but I don't think that's a bad thing. It's just funny all the time.

Finished the season tonight. I really enjoyed that first season. There were some parts of the last two episodes that were bordering on silly, like Jacqueline and Lillian and Kimmy kicking down Wayne's secret area) but there were also some great moments like all the courtroom scenes, the tension of being in the bunker (Thank god they didn't end the season with the girls back in the Bunker, I would have been a little upset if they had), and the misogynistic GPS. :guffaw:

This week, I was recommended this series by a friend, and when I got home from Vacation I was thinking about seeing it not only because of that, but because I miss shows like 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation. I miss having a show that feels very positive and I can sit down and just smile and appreciate positive characters and just positivity in general. This show provided that in the few days I watched it. Looking forward to season 2.

Also, that theme song is so good, it's now my ringtone:

Unbreakable, they alive dammit...it's a mir-acle :D

It's been a while since I finished the show now, but one joke still stands out to me and is mentioned often in my household: the artisanal frozen water. Where I live, I could totally see that being an actual thing. The best part is when he opens the box and there are only four cubes inside. Oh god it's so real it's sad.
