Hey, Mark, I think it's showtime--Brigham Young is making arrangements with Huntington to hire some Chinese workers for the Mormon railroad. Shit, I'm afraid you called it.... Well, crap...they're taking a hiatus until November!
Whatever the penalty, it seems that her apple didn't fall far from the tree. She totally upstaged Eva. (Just rewatched the episode when her pop killed Captain Kelly...I've heard that it's a lot harder than that to behead somebody.)
Sounds like a too-happy ending for the show. Look for something bad to happen before, during or after the ceremony.
I like the show and love the main character's personality traits. However I must say all those who kept asking AMC to bring back common probably wished they hadn't.
The Golden Spike is history. Where the characters end up is another thing entirely. I assume that Durant and Campbell won't die, as they're based on historical figures...but I wouldn't bet on Bohannon walking out of the series finale alive....
Anson Mount said that he expects a somewhat tragic/bittersweet ending for Cullen. That he finally finishes the railroad and upon reaching the West Coast all he can think he "Is that it? Wonder if I can make it to China..." and he basically is chronically unsatisfied for the rest of his life.
Yeah, I think Mount is being too optimistic there.... The way I've heard it described by showmakers, Bohannon's journey is supposed to be about seeking redemption for his past sins by completing the railroad. So he'll get to Utah, but I wouldn't count on him getting any farther....
Hope nobody minds a bump to remind everyone that Hell is back a week from tonight for three more episodes!
Ooh! Three new video extras about the upcoming episodes! Mesa gonna watch. ETA: OK, one of them's the commercial they've been airing for weeks....
Also, they're doing a Season 4 (so far) marathon tomorrow. (Sorry for the double post, too late to edit the old one.)
AMC's Hell on Wheel renewed for a fifth and final season of 14 episodes. Will be split into two sets of 7 episodes, one half airing 2015, the second half in 2016 http://tvline.com/2014/11/07/hell-on-wheels-season-5-renewal-cancelled-amc/
Thanks for the news, 3chordboy! The link is working now, but here's what it says: So really we're effectively getting two more shorter seasons. Don't know if I'd consider that "cancelled", since, as I touched upon upthread, the chronology of the show compared to the history of the setting would indicate that they only planned to go five seasons. So this is good news to me, to know that we can look forward to two more years of Hell (our time), and that the story will come to a proper, planned resolution. Of course, the article got the number of remaining Season 4 episodes wrong, so....
