More shots of Godzilla rising/swimming, and MUTO walking, can be seen in this 3D video:

    Old school refinery destruction...

Once again, Valandar's "generic" Kaiju from DAZ modified to more closely resemble Godzilla (using Gareee's add-on spinal plates). I placed it upon one of StoneMason's cityscape "greeblies", one resembling some sort of refinery. The "atomic breath" was achieved "in render" by positioning intersecting planes with "transparent" textures applied.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Thanks! I hope it's not too distracting a "thread bomb".

    Sincerely,

Much as I'd like to read it.... no. No more spoilers from here on out. I've already done enough damage.

    Fair enough.

The excerpt is from Chapter Two, btw.

^I wouldn't worry too much as a big part of that was cut from the final film, according to two of Edwards' recent interviews:

I hate when they cut things from movies that feel like they should have kept it and then leave things in that make me go "The movie is 90 minutes too long".

I caved in and read it. Well written and I look forward to seeing it very much on any screen - big or small.

Oddly one of the criticisms of the film is that in an age where most films are probably 30 minutes too long, this one could do with some more time added to it, especially where the characters are concerned.

I have no idea who they screened the film for, and said the film needed to come down in length (it's 2 hours and 3 minutes) but it resulted in a few things being cut, including Akira Takarada's scene.

Oh my god! They cut Akira Takarada!

    You bastards!

I will never understand modern Hollywood's insistence on fast pacing, its fear of losing the audience if they slow things down for even a minute. I mean, it's not like the audience can change the channel. These are people who have traveled a fair distance and spent a fair amount of money to sit in the theater. They've invested in being there. They're not going to walk out if things slow down for a few moments.

It's sort of interesting to note that a lot of Edwards favourite shots apparently aren't in the film:

Just came back from the preview screening in Berlin, Germany.

Visually it is a gorgeous movie, but as a Godzilla movie, there is very little Godzilla in it.
Characters a bland and boring, hardly any kajiu vs kajiu action.

It is a disaster movie where the disaster takes backstage to the boring characters, and Godzilla is not a character either.

    D+ i would vote.

It's out now in the UK btw, saw it today.

For a movie called "Godzilla" I wouldn't have minded a little more... Godzilla in it tbh

    Also for Bryan Cranston fans...
The trailer seems to sell that he's a major part of. I presume they're just cashing in on Breaking Bad popularity, as he's not in it that much.

But overall I enjoyed it, nothing too amazingly amazing but worth a watch.
A lot better than the 1998 version anyway!

but they will walk out and demand a refund if they've been given a product that they didn't want to buy. You sell something as an action movie and it turns out to be a drama, then they're going to get bored. Sell a horror movie as a comedy and they're going to walk out. Quite rightly too: Refund requested; product not as advertised.
