I don't think it was really meant to be "Mulder and Scully on vacation", but more DD and GA waving hi to the viewers. Just a silly, throwaway thing; not to be taken seriously.

I apparently neglected to sit through the end of the credits, because I have no idea what scene that is.

I loved the wave. It was a nod to us fans who have supported The X-Files since it ended in 2002; it's not part of the actual plot or anything.

If its not supposed to be part of the movie, than it shouldn't be in the damn movie!

    Just sayin'...

If its a nod to the fans, they could have just as easily said something in their interviews for the film, or featurrette on the DVD/blu ray.

But in a franchise where every last thing onscreen is scrutinzed & debated by a rabid fanbase (and thankfully, I'm really not one of those people...not with X-Files, anyway), it was a mistake to show the two characters basically on vacation, as if to suggest their first case back (onscreen) was just such a doozie they had to immediately go back on leave from the FBI, despite the end of the world/alien colonization bein' just around the corner...

And for those who missed it, I found it on YouTube! YAY! for YouTube!

That's what I thought too, just a joke.

The end credits are extremely well designed and looked great in the theatre, although they covered them up with other pictures on the DVD, and the music is cool too.

No insult to the movie which I liked, but the end credits were one of my favourite bits

The way I see it, if it's at the end of the credits, it's not in the damn movie. It's after the movie.

I love the fact that there's a blooper reel. Nothing is funnier than screw ups from a serious movie...

Scenes after the credits in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger are all part of those movies.

The scene after the credits in X3: The Last Stand & X-Men Origins: Wolverine are part of those movies.

The movie within the movie that played durin' the credits of Super 8 is a part of that movie, its what the kids were workin' on & referenced through the film.

Hell, even Super Troopers had that bonus bit showin' the school bus incident - that was part of the movie!

But bloopers (usual from comedies) or footage of the events (as with some sports movies these days) aren't part of the movie, but do add to 'em in their own way (bloopers are funny, its sometimes nice to see the folks do what the movie says they did).

He seemed pretty invested in the material early on. Indeed, his performance is often what makes the series work.

True, I just always thought David Duchovny had a very I don't care air about him...It comes with extreme arrogance. Being awesome and knowing you're awesome are two completely different things.
