Zac Efron IS Anakin Skywalker!

Not an April or even July Fools' Day joke.

Now I know why I've been here ten years...so I could make that announcement, which is now the insurmountable pinnacle of absurdism.

Go ahead, burn TrekBBS down now.

Adult Swim and the Robot Chicken gang have teamed for Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III, a third installment in the highly-rated series of specials, which will premiere on December 12. And this time, there is a heartthrob infusion into the geek squad, with Zac Efron on board to voice Anakin Skywalker. Other new voice cast members for Episode III include Anthony Daniels from the original Star Wars films as C3PO, Mike Henry (The Cleveland Show) and Donald Glover (Community).

...

"We're telling more of a linear story this time that covers the series from start to finish," says Green. Added Senreich says, "We wanted to take the Star Wars universe and see if through the eyes of our Robot Chicken: Star Wars Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Gary the Stormtrooper. We'll still flip around the universe but we'll get a unique perspective from the bad guy side, from people who just want to rule the universe."

Huh, actually it sounds kinda fun. Gort knows Lucas isn't doing anything worthwhile with Star Wars, let's see what the clowns can do.

Should be funny, I sorta like thier take better than Family Guy, but I'm looking foward to I Got a Bad Feeling About this.

Honestly, I think he would've actually made a pretty good Anakin.

Beats that other guy. :bolian:

I can't think of what his voice is like - don't pay much attention to him, not being a 13 year old girl :D - but could he plausibly sound like the guy who grows up to be James Earl Jones?

I don't know about Jones, but he does look (and sound) a lot more like Shaw than Christensen does.

Plus, as far as pretty-boy heartthrobs go, Efron is a fairly good actor. He also has a lot of charisma, which I always assumed Anakin to have.

Of course, Zac Efron would have been what, 12(?) when Episode 2 was filmed so that's why we didn't actually get him as Anakin.

Though I got to say, this Robot Chicken special sound pretty good. The first one was awesome, but the second was disappointing. Here's hoping this one's good.

Hey, I wrote off Efron as a pretty boy. I'm way too old for him. But then he started combing his hair off of his face--nice face.

And then I saw a pic of him at the beach....

Holy shit! That little boy grew up and got some nice muscles!

Still, he's way too young to even ogle. And I still have Hubby to ogle. Though he doesn't quite look like Efron. When people have asked if I think Hubby is handsome, I say, "To me, because he has smiles that only I have seen. But I think the only calendar he'd be asked to pose for is 'Pharmacists You Can Trust'."

He's 22. I say ogle away! There's nothing wrong with looking.

"Look but don't touch."?

I've said that to Hubby--not like he was going to touch anyway.

Which reminds me of a story a friend told. Years ago, when smoking in restaurants in LA was still allowed, my friend went out to dinner with her husband. A gorgeous woman entered and crossed the room. Husband's gaze followed her the entire time. He even turned his head to watch her. Then she lit a cigarette. Husband said, "Damn, she smokes." My friend said, "'She smokes'? And what were you going to do anyway?"

He wasn't so bad in Me and Orson Welles (the only thing I've actually seen Zac Efron in). And while I'm not a big fan of Robot Chicken (it's hit and miss - with some spectacular hits, true), their Star Wars episodes were pretty hilarious, and significantly better then their Family Guy counterparts. I don't know if they could sustain that level of humour for an entire series, but eh, it's better than nothing.
