Either you kill the person in the photograph before the timer runs out, or you lose someone/something of value, that could include up to yourself.
Seemingly hundreds of people are invisibly against the backdrop of LA playing this game simultaneously, and their targets sometimes overlap.
That pretty Kid Milo from Heroes stars in season one, and Chad Michael Murry from One Tree Hill is the lead in season 2. Milo is a producer, nothing sinister, the story telling is just waeving the larger universe of Chosen, but we'll get back to Milo at some point conceivably.
