I'm not sure if we did this last year, but we've done is several times over the years. I think it's fun to imagine if you were the editor of the Pocket Books Star Trek line, what books would you want to publish next year?

I'm imagining at this point that we're going to see a few months gap at the beginning of 2018 because of issues with negotiation the fiction license this time around, but which will end up being a huge blessing for years to come. But I'm ignoring that for my dream schedule and covering all 12 months. I'm including some things which I'm not a huge fan of, but which are basically obligatory, and some things which are just dreams of mine.

Setting aside weather this is financially wise or not, I would publish a MMPB and an ebook each month. In addition, I would put out two of those larger sized paperbacks for Discovery, and they wouldn't count toward the monthly quota. So in no particular order...

    Paperbacks-
    1. TNG/DS9- Destruction of Romulus/ Death of Spock Trilogy- Book 1
    2. TNG/DS9- Destruction of Romulus/ Death of Spock Trilogy- Book 2
    3. TNG/DS9- Destruction of Romulus/ Death of Spock Trilogy- Book 3
    4. Rise of the Federation- Book 6
    5. The Obligatory TOS 5YM Novel
    6. DS9/ Aventine Team Up
    7. TOS- Second Five Year Mission Novel- CLB
    8. Kelvin Timeline TOS- Book 1
    9. Kelvin Timeline TOS- Book 2
    10. Seekers 5
    11. Voyager: To Lose the Earth
    12. Klingon Empire- Book 2- KRAD
    Ebooks-
    1. DTI- Movie Era Followup to Forgotten History
    2. Ferengi Tale About Rom
    3. USS Kelvin- Book 1
    4. USS Kelvin- Book 2
    5. New Frontier- The END
    6. Titan
    7. DS9
    8. Enterprise- Suliban Tale
    9. TNG- Data Tale
    10. TOS- Enterprise-A Series- Book 1
    11. TOS- Enterprise-A Series- Book 2
    12. Pike- Followup to Early Voyagers Comic
    Trade Paperback
    1. Discovery #3
    2. Discovery #4
And I'm not sure how to package this, either with something else or by itself, but I'd love to see a updated version of the Pocket Books Timeline, like was in the back of Voyages of the Imagination. I think it's been 11 years!

So what does your dream Trek Lit schedule for 2018 look like? And remember keep it vague, no story ideas. Just the series and settings basically.

    January: Kelvin series book 1
Feburary: Voyager: To Lose the Earth
    March: TNG Relaunch
    April: TOS 5 year mission
    May: DS9 Relaunch
June: Hobus/disappearance of Spock trilogy book 1
July: Hobus/disappearance of Spock trilogy book 2
August: Hobus/disappearance of Spock trilogy book 3
    Sept: DIS book 2
    October: Kelvinverse TOS novel
    November: Rise of the Federation
    December: Titan

I really hope they take advantage of having access to the Kelvinverse movies and give us the Hobus story, and novels focused on the Enterprise and Kelvin. We'd pretty much need to have at least one novel from each of the ongoing series.

I'd also bring back the anthologies, and do an Enterprise one and a new Captain's Table anthology with all of the major captains that have been introduced or promoted since the first one.
I really liked the anthologies they use to do, and the fact that they stopped has been one of my biggest disappointments over the last few years.

    E-books:
    TNG TV era novella
    DS9 TV era novella
    VOY TV era novella
    ENT TV era novella
    DTI

The e-books would be a perfect way to give us shorter series era stories, and by doing this the people who don't get e-books wouldn't miss out on parts of the Relaunchs' ongoing stories.
