You're one bad dude...

There have been some pretty cool 'bad guys' or 'bad entities' or whatever you want to all them....usually DARTH VADER wins this kind of contest, and with good reason. Though, at the end, he did bring balance to the force, or whatever it was he did...

Is Darth Vader the greatest scifi bad guy of all time? Does Khan rank up there? The T-1000 Terminator? What about Heath's Joker?

Your mission...list your five greates bad guys off all time, in terms of scifi/fantasy movies....good luck!!!

Scorpio

1. Terminator 1 Arnie.
2. The Kurgan (Highlander)
3. Vader (ESB)
4. Damien Thorne (Omen 2)
5. Sark (Tron)

Hmm... A top ten is called for:

in no order:

Vader has to make the list
Ming the Merciless
Apocalypse (from the Xmen)
Riddick
Gul Dukat
O One Boxer
Terminator 1(but he's not really bad-he's just built that way)

Baltar from original BSG

There's my 5! And, yes, I did attend public school. Why do you ask?;)

Well until he started to be taken apart at the seams as a character this season by terrible writing, I would have nominated poor Sylar. :p

But Ben Linus definitely needs to make the list.

In no particular order:
  • HAL 9000, 2001: A Space Odyssey
  • Count Orlock, Shadow of the Vampire
  • Mr. Smith, The Matrix
  • Zorg, The Fifth Element
  • Scorpius, Farscape
I was never a fan of Darth Vader. In the original trilogy he was just too two-dimensional for my tastes -- he was a bad guy merely because he was dressed in black, had a breathing disorder, and everyone told you he was a bad guy. Aside from choking some dude and waving a lightsaber around like an old guy who never fought a duel in his life, there wasn't anything really menacing about him to me. The new trilogy just turned him into a big joke. So... yeah. Not a fan.

However, some of my other favorite villains (non-sci-fi) include:
  • Sweeny Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
  • Tyler Durden, Fight Club
  • Vincent & Jules, Pulp Fiction
  • Captain Vidal, Pan's Labyrinth
  • Mr. Blonde, Resoirvoir Dogs

VADER
Terminators (Period. Pick one)
Predator (definition of bad-ass-ness)
Megatron (gun or spaceship)
KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!
