Here's my top 10:

1) Inside Out - This was the best and most creative movie I've ever seen. It might be my favorite movie pixar has ever done.

2) Spotlight - This was just really well done. There's really nothing big about it, but the chemistry of the cast just comes together and it's really eye opening what happened when the Catholic Church scandal broke.

3) Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation - While everyone thought Mad Max was the best action movie in a long time, I was greatly entertained by this movie. That car chase leading into the motercycle chase scene was unreal, and so much better than the plane scene that everyone was talking about.

4) The Martian - I love a good science movie and Matt Damon carried this one really really well.

5) Spy - This one really surprised me. I'm iffy on McCarthy, but she was excellent here. One of the best and most underrated comedies of the year.

6) Star Wars: The Force Awakens - I really liked this one both times I saw it. I wish we got more backstory, but I hope we get snippets here and there in Episode 8. Really happy to see SW back on the big screen.

7) Ex Machina - Again, like the Martian, this movie made me think and that's a great thing.

8) The Big Short - This movie was funny and scary at the same time. It's also scary that this situation might happen again.

9) Mad Max Fury Road - I find this one a little overrated, but it was still one of the most unique and interesting films I saw last year.

10) Sicario - This Cinamatography on this one was amazing, and Emily Blunt and Del Toro were awesome as well.

Wow. Six films I saw that were released last year, and then just two of those (Star Wars and Avengers) I saw at the cinema. I have Ant-Man somewhere to watch so that will be in the mix somewhere.
