Hey Cool Post BTW!! This will be fun!

5. The Fifth Element - Diva Song - Diva
4. Little Mermaid - Part of Your World - Ariel
3. Punisher - In Time - Mark Collie
2. Little Shop Of Horrors - Be a Dentist - Steve Martin
1. Blazing Saddles - I Get a Kick Out Of You\Camptown Lady

Blue Velvet, easily. Every use of music is memorable, and the music perfectly accompianies the story.

There are some beautiful moments in the film, but I'll always remember Dennis Hopper Frightning rants in the middle of nowhere. (Explicit Language)

There's also some seriously great musical moments in Muholland Dr. and Eraserhead.

Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas has some great cues too.

The "blood bath" scene in Blade. The music is New Order's "Confusion".

Hey, it involves dancing.

For song use:

1. The ending song from "The Breakfast Club".
2. "March of the Swivelheads" from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" -- they use a good portion of it when Ferris is trying to run home and beat his parents back.
3. "Magic" (Mick Smiley) in "Ghostbusters".
4. And I've loved -- as offbeat and esoteric and "out there" this mention really truely is -- the scene from the Norm McDonald comedy film "Dirty Work" where they're about to get int oa bar fight, something he certainly doesn't want to do, and someone -- I think it was him -- suggested they need good bar fighting music (you know how in films there's always something grungy or rock-ish playing when people fight in a bar), and the juke box is kicked on and it starts up, "If you like pina colatas". I love that.
5. Pee Wee dancing to "Tequila" in "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" while the unhappy bikers look on.

Now, musical numbers and scoring are seperate, for me.

The Blues Brothers and Rocky Horror spring to mind, but away from actual musical numbers, the scene in ROTK where the beacon fires on the hilltops are lit to that fabulous score always blows me away....

Singing In The Rain from A Clockwork Orange
Stuck In The Middle Again from Resevior Dogs.

Similar to the scene in Shaun of the Dead where they're beating up zombies while the bar juke box plays "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen.
"Kill the Queen!"

V & Evey dancing to "Cry Me a River" in V for Vendetta.

The domino montage in V for Vendetta.

The very surreal beginning & ending to Apocalypse Now set to "The End" by the Doors.

"When She Loved Me" in Toy Story 2 always nearly makes me cry.

It's a bit obvious but Evanesence's "My Immortal" during Nicholas Natchios' funeral in Daredevil.

"Burnin' in the 3rd Degree" warping into creepy, warbly music as the T-800 comes to kill Sarah Conner in Tech Noir in The Terminator.

First thing to pop into my head is an olddie but goodie...
The scene in Casablanca when the drunk Germans in the bar start singong and then the patrons sing the Le Marseilles

it has always choked me up.

Hitch, when the tubby guy demonstrates his piss-poor dancing and Hitch stands there, deadpan, staring at him, then kills the music, and says something like "you never, EVER, dance like that again."

apparently the actor ad-libbed the routine, so how Will Smith didn't fall about laughing is anyone's guess.
