Based on responses so far, just going by which episodes are getting mentioned most frequently, I'd say that "In the Pale Moonlight" is most commonly mentioned top episode, probably followed by "The Best of Both Worlds" and "The Visitor". Maybe "Blink" (Doctor Who) and "Exodus" (BSG) would be the most commonly mentioned non-Trek episodes.

Not a bad showing for Michael Taylor, who wrote both "The Visitor" and "In the Pale Moonlight"!

Yes, not to mention Ron Moore, who apparently wrote the final draft of "In the Pale Moonlight" (though he's uncredited), and also does uncredited rewrites on (I think) every BSG episode, which would presumably include "Exodus". Not sure if he had any input into either "The Best of Both Worlds" or "The Visitor", but he was on the writing staff of the respective shows when each of them was produced.
