Nero's Shadow

Ok we've all had a good dose of TNG HD Season 1 on blu ray. And my favourite scene is from the episode 11001001 just love seening the enterprise docking at star base 74 the HD quality is really good.

So what's your favorite scene from season 1

Tough one I'll have to choose 2. The beauty shot from the beginning of EaF, first thing I saw on the sampler disk after the credits, my jaw hit the floor at the quality of that shot.

Second would have to be the Enterprise reversing out of Starbase 74 and jumping to warp, it gave me goosebumps as a kid. In the original shot, the contrast was messed up but the re composition of the FX fixed that, a very welcome fix!

*cries* Can't play blu-ray, but my favorite shot is in the main title sequence in every show. I went from a 19" to 27" tv and surround sound during TNG's first season, and the shot where the Enterprise first appears and does an up close flyby were jaw dropping.

*cries* Can't play blu-ray...

Players are extremely cheap now.

Yeah, but when you only get a once-a-month disability check that goes toward all your living expenses (and no foodstamps), disposable income is only about five bucks, which goes to public transit fares. No working tv, either.

I've been down that road before in life. Don't despair, I'm certain TNG-HD will be available through other distributors in the not too distant future. :techman:

I figure maybe I'll get an external blu-ray drive for the computer eventually. I'm traditionally late on new technologies. Didn't buy a DVD movie until about 5 years ago, and have never owned a cellphone. :D

But on topic, the 24th century Romulan warbirds were pretty impressive in their first appearance too.

Why not buy him one then if they're so cheap?

Calm down. Twenty years ago, I earned enough I would buy a $400 vcr without thinking twice about it. Now I have to plan even a $50 purchase months in advance. I had a stroke 10 years ago but survived it, so I'm grateful. I could have wound up dead or worse. Instead I'm able to waste time on the internet now. ;)

Back on topic.

This might seem like an odd choice, but I just watched Coming of Age the other day and was really impressed with the effects of the shuttlecraft bouncing off the atmosphere of the planet. The whole episode just really stood out to me. Even the matte painting of the base on the planet was impressive.

Also, if I could pick one more it would be Where No One Has Gone Before. This episode always looked good to me even before the Blu-ray, but now it looks spectacular. Particularly this shot of the Enterprise.
