What is your favorite pair of Kirks from TOS, and why? Hope I haven't left any out.

Good Kirk/Evil Kirk (The Enemy Within)
    Prime Kirk/Mirror Kirk (Mirror, Mirror)
Kirk/Android Kirk (What Are Little Girls Made Of?)
    Kirk/Captain Garth (Whom Gods Destroy)
    Kirk/Janice Lester (Turnabout Intruder)

I haven't included Anan-7's voice duplicator because there was no visible "other Kirk," nor Sargon because Kirk was invisible and incommunicado while Sargon was in his body.

    Interesting poll!

I voted for Lester/Kirk, I really liked Sandra Smith as Kirk. I also liked Shat's LesterKirk.

But all of these are interesting, I didn't realize that Kirk was duplicated so many times.

I really enjoyed Kirk talking to Android Kirk at the dinner table.

Split personality Kirk was really done well, and very early in the series.

I didn't think Mirror Kirk have enough screen time to make any good comparison.

My least favorite was when Garth was acting as Kirk. There were some problems with that scene, not the least of which was the big fight. Spock should have been able to tell in another way. I also felt the Garth Kirk was too good, Shat really wasn't acting any different, but of course Garth wanted to act the same, just too perfect.

Well Lester in Kirk's body isn't really a "Kirk," it's another person entirely in his body. She's not a part of his identity or anything, she's just using his body.

So I choose "good Kirk/evil Kirk"(really id Kirk/superego Kirk) from "enemy within," for Shatner's awesome performance and of course... "I'm Captain Kirk!"

Garth/Kirk's temper tantrum after he couldn't get aboard the Enterprise was epically awesome.

Obviously it's not TOS (technically) but Kirk/Martia is one more for the tally.

Mirror Kirk, with "The Enemy Within" evil Kirk a close second.

If you're counting the movies, there was also the time that Martia disguised herself as Kirk in STVI.

I'm going for the dark horse candidate:
Kirk/Android Kirk (What Are Little Girls Made Of?).

It's not the best episode (although it is a good one), but I think it's the closest thing to a plausible situation among these choices. And Kirk has a neat conversation with his replicant.

    Totally.

I like that chess move password though! They didn't make it seem like that, but it's a perfect way to handle the beam up if you know you're beaming down to a place where you might get duplicated.

Hear, hear, that's what I voted.

"Androids don't eat, Ms. Chapel." easily wins that contest. What a great moment. I remember when I first saw it too! Creepy! Probably one of the creepiest moments in the franchise. Nicely done.

I also love that cocky, smarmy look Android Kirk gives Prime Kirk.

Prime Kirk actually gives Andrea the same look after he kisses her. :rommie:

I vote for Good Kirk/Evil Kirk in "The Enemy Within." Great performance by Shatner as both the Jekyll and Hyde halves of Kirk's personality.

It's "Miss Chapel." The title "Ms." didn't become popular until the 1970s.

Transporter Kirk - a nice twist on Jekyll & Hyde and iconic, so there is my vote.
Mirror Kirk and actual Kirk never met so I can't pick them.
Android Kirk was quite scary to me as a child, but I remember the wang shaped rock more.
Garth Kirk I enjoyed, but I didn't like the way Spock dealt with it - I'm pretty sure he could come up with a better plan than letting them duke it out, possibly involving phasers and mind melding. That and they copied it in TUC.
Finally Lester was a neat idea, but they ruined it with the story (which was a bit less than progressive) and the silly characterisation of Lester as the woman scorned - although it was fun to see Shatner turning it up to 11.

I'm going with Evil Kirk/Android Kirk.

I know it wasn't one of the choices, but hey.

Evil Kirk would be really sick of Spock's halfbreed interference.

I like all of the Kirk pairs, but voted for Turnabout Intruder. Sandra Smith played both parts really well, and Janice in Kirk's body was like a triple scoop of Shatner with extra Shatner and a side order of Shatner.

    "The Enemy Within."

"The Enemy Within" is one of my favorite episodes. The dichotomy between the two halves of Kirk are fully explored, and it reveals something about Kirk as a character as well. The episode also explores the possibility that it is our aggressive, negative side that gives us our ability to make decisions and allows us to be leaders.

It should be rational Kirk/primal Kirk. The primal is necessary, not evil. Good, in fact.

I had to vote for "The Enemy Within" just for the acting. "I WANNA LIVE!"
