After listening to the Sklar Brothers (who are now my favorite comedians ever, they are so frakking hilarious) for awhile now, I got to thinking: What are some of your favorite local commercials that you have ever seen?
By that I don't mean just local ads for things that you might see anywhere (like national chain stores). I mean advertisements made in a particular city or town that are pretty much local to that place.
For example, the Sklars - being natives of St. Louis - of course talk about Steve Mizerany. And having lived there myself at some point (late 80's/early 90's), I can attest to how funny he is.
Me, I think my favorite local ad was the *original* Godfather in the Godfather's Pizza ads. Bill Koll was his name. Kind of looked like Jerry Orbach. Picture Lennie Briscoe, as an over-the-top Mafia type, selling pizza.
There is a Godfather now as well but it's a different guy, not quite as funny...
