Your 2000-2009 television shows....

Maybe not that far in the past, but the early decade of the 21st century is receding ever further behind us. And it seems how people watch shows is rapidly changing particularly during the last few years.

So here's a glance at what we watched in that first decade of the 21st century.

Regularly watched:
Dr. Who (the first season)
Journeyman
Law & Order
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Mad Men
Murdoch Mysteries
Mythbusters
Stargate SG-1
Stargate Atlantis

Sporadically watched:
Everybody Loves Raymond
Frasier (reruns)
JAG (reruns)
Turner Classic Movies

I was getting weaned off television back then. During that time I also watched quite a few things on History Television and Discovery before those networks turned to mostly crap. Now to see the better programs there you have to get the HD versions of those channels.

Since 2009 my television watching has nose-dived particularly since there was very little overlap between those shows.

Boardwalk Empire
Mad Men
Murdoch Mysteries
Game Of Thrones

I just call it "The Two Thousands". If I really feel like making a few digs into the era, I'll call it "The Zeroes".

For this decade, I don't know, "The Tens" sounds stupid. "The Teens"? I don't know.

But anyway. I'm going to leave out anime -- which I was really into in the '00s -- and stick with live-action...

Farscape
Oz
Firefly
That '70s Show
Battlestar Galactica
Mad Men
Dollhouse
Band of Brothers
Andromeda (for half a season, but what was I thinking?)
Deadwood (first season only)
Doctor Who (I actually discovered it in 2013, but I'll include the Eccleston/Tennant seasons here)

... and yeah! I'm not a huge fan of the '00s. Psychologically, I keep forgetting there was a decade that came in-between the '90s and Now. The Zeroes were just kind of there. Except for politically, because of Bush and 9/11...

Wait, two more shows I watched, now that I mentioned the news:

The Daily Show
CNN, whatever they called the hour that Wolf Blitzer hosted.

My brother liked "Crossfire" but I didn't. I was glad John Stewart went on to the show and torpedoed it.

Even now, I don't think the current TV shows are as good as the TV shows in the 90's and earlier. But in the 00's I was watching (and this was on both broadcast and DVD/Blu-Ray):

Star Trek Voyager
Star Trek Enterprise (saw 12 episodes from Seasons 2 & 3 on VHS first, then saw the first 16 episodes of Season 4 on broadcast, and finally I saw the remaining episodes on DVD)
Star Trek Deep Space Nine (saw a few episodes in the 90's, but really started to watch the series regulary in re-runs in the early-00's and then with the entire DVD release)
Star Trek Remastered
The Honeymooners (first saw it on Sunday mornings around 05 on Comedy Channel, finally picked up the Blu-Ray last year)
Fringe
Iron Man Armoured Adventures
Wolverine and the X-Men
Star Trek The Animated Series (on DVD)
Touched by An Angel
Smallville
Canada's Worst Driver
Canada's Worst Handyman
The Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries (on VHS and DVD)
Adventures of Superman (on DVD)
Zorro (on DVD)
Mythbusters
Hell's Kitchen
Kitchen Nightmares

I honestly can't remember, in part because in this decade I finished college, went through graduate school, and so I sort of stopped watching a lot of TV. If we're only counting stuff I watched off a broadcast or cable channel, then all I can account for is:

NYPD Blue
Boston Legal
Doctor Who
Bones
Castle
Mythbusters
The Daily Show
The Colbert Report

If we add in stuff I watched on DVD because i missed it the first time around, then we can also include:

Deadwood
The West Wing
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Firefly
Battlestar Galactica

I watched SO much TV. Let's see:

CSI
Law & Order:SVU
NCIS
Family Guy

The Office
Stargate SG-1
Scrubs
The Big Bang Theory
Voyager
House

Chuck

Reruns of TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY
Reruns of Babylon 5
Star Trek: Enterprise
Andromeda
Stargate: SG1
Stargate: Atlantis
Battlestar Galactica
Heroes
One Piece
Naruto
Dragonball
Dragonball Z
Sonic Underground

Screw it. Why not finish the job? Shows I've watched in the 2010s:

New
Parks and Recreation
Caprica
Mad Men
Breaking Bad
Better Call Saul
Halt and Catch Fire
Orange is the New Black
Spartacus (S1 only)

Netflix
The X-Files
Firefly
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Dollhouse
Doctor Who (old and new)

While I was out on the road in a couple of bands, I got to see some pretty cool shows when we would kick back at hotels or band houses. Sometimes we'd see some marathons.

While on the road:
Law and Order (and its spinoffs)
The West Wing
Star Trek Voyager
Star Trek Enterprise
South Park

While I still had cable tv:
Battlestar Galactica
Family Guy

On DVD/Blu-Ray:
24
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

With Netflix:
House M.D. (getting ready to watch the series finale)
Bones
