Young(er) Spock?

The casting of 36 years old Winona Rider got me thinking: Assuming Rider is playing Amanda at roughly the same age as she is, then it means that Spock will be 16-18 years old in the scenes involving his mother (and likely his father).

If so, who should play him? Can Quinto pull it off? Or are we going to get a third Spock?

It's easy to add a few years to someone. Look at Sarek he was only a year or two older than Spock but they did a good job of adding years to him in the 60's and for the movies in the 80's. It also helps to have an actor/actress that can pull it off.

Star Trek XI: The Search For Spock.\

With Quinto's perpetual 5 o'clock shadow? I don't think so!

We've had a total of five actors playing Spock (six counting Frank Welker's voice-over) in one film (The Search for Spock). Three seems downright economical.
