yesterday's live 30 rock episode

went very smoothly, and I thought that they did a fantastic job during the live broadcast. Creative way to work in the "flashback" sequences, nice guest stars (jon hamm and matt damon are both hilarious), and a surreal look at what 30 rock might look like if it were a sitcom.

However, apparently the west coast and east coast broadcasts were different in 17 ways:

I have to admit, it took until the next day that I got the closing joke that the only reason 30 Rock is a well-lit, single-camera, no-laugh-track production is because that's how Jack sees things when he's drunk.

Great episode, but watching it "live" really does rob the show of its magic and gloss. Still, hilarious!
