"Yesterday's Enterprise"

CDR6

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
I was reading a few threads about this episode Vs bridge design and went and pulled the tape and stuck it in the ole VCR. As I was watching it (for the "XX" time) It struck me that this show had the feel as if it was supposed to be originally Capt. Kirk and company's swan song (death).

Admittedly, a much better fate than what he got... Or is it just me that sees this?

No, I never got the feeling that it was supposed to be Kirk and co on the earlier Enterprise. I did get that from Too Short A Season, though. I get it so much from that episode that when I remember it, I almost see Kirk, Spock, Kang/Koloth or Kor in the roles!

"Too Short a Season" WAS supposed to be about Kirk. The aged Admiral would've been Kirk deaged to Shatner's real age as the episode went on, and the planet being Tyree's planet from "A Private little war". I don't think he'd have died at the end though.

Yeah, A Private Little War is the other thing that comes to mind. I've never read anywhere that it was supposed to have been Kirk, though. Where did you read that?

Memory Alpha mentions this, in its entry on "A Private Little War".
