Avast: in 1995, Ol'Chumbucket and Cap'n Slappy were playing tennis (Aye, they were still landlubbers at the time), when Cap'n Slappy fell and yelled "ARR!". These old seadogs decided to honour that occasion by celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day each yearrr. Avast, it happened on june 6th, and the D-day memorial day was already on that day, so they decided to move it to September 19, as 't was Cap'n Slappy's last wench's birthday, so the date would be easier to remember for him.
