Xbox Consoles Crippled by Update?

So I just tried to get on my Xbox and there seems to be some update that’s broken the console. It says:

You need this update to use your console, but something went wrong. For help, visit Xbox.com/xboxone/update/help.

Error code: 0x8B0500B6 0x00000000 0x00000201

This is happening on both my older XB1 and my newer XB1X. Anyone else having this problem? I went on their message forum and there are already about 40 people with this same problem and the wait times on the help line are getting close to one hour. No indications on any official site of an outage or DDoS attack. Looks bad, though...

Update: Yep, outage page now lists Core Services as down. Someone just tripped over a BIG cable at Microsloth.

Another update: Core services now back up. Seems to be working now.
