Microsoft Xbox 360 accessory "Project Natal" will allow players to simply act out whatever they want their video game characters to do, without the need to press buttons, flick joysticks or waggle a remote.

it's a quantum leap ahead of anything that's come before, accurately tracking a player's entire body in 3-D space, with face and voice recognition features to boot. It's the Star Trek holodeck in beta.

I watched the conference and i have to admit it looks very exciting , but i will hold judgment until i can see a actual real time demo of it in action, as a apposed to that video and that set up demo with the Dev.

But i hope its all true, its could be quite innovating.

The PS3 motion controller also looked amazing, and they seemed to have solved the lack of precise movement that affects all present motion controllers.

All in all some quite impressive technology on show.

I was impressed by the video, but worried MS would not be able to deliver. However, the folks at Engadget, who were skeptical, got to test it and said it worked impressively well. While some will protest this, it is the future of not only gaming but also computer interface.

If you ever watch the MS concept videos of future homes, this technology is a big part of it. It makes sense to me that they would develop it first in gaming, because once it is perfected there, it will be a simple matter to make it part of an OS interface.
