X-men: Villains in sequels?

Whofan

Fleet Captain
So far we've had Magneto (Along with the brotherhood mutants) William Stryker (sort of) Dark Phoenix, and Sebastian Shaw.

What's next for the X-men? Sentinels would seem pretty obvious since Singer tried to get them in there since the first movie, and made a cameo of sorts in the third.

Another villain they could use would be Mr. Sinister. Perhaps set up a story involving him trying to control Havok, and use that to introduce his brother Cyclops (ignoring X-men Wolverine).

Apocalypse is one of the more out-there villains, but could work if he's modified a bit.

As for other villains, well X2 took a one-time villain from an 80's graphic novel and changed him enough to make a compelling villain (Although more in the Brian Cox version)...so anything's possible I guess.

Pretty much covered the majors which should be enough for a couple of movies to fill (maybe until the superhero genre fades out).

I actually want to see Arcade.

And I would like to see Jean Grey enter by being the Black Queen first and then switching sides to go to the X-Men

Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse are the two most obvious choices. I wouldn't mind seeing the Sentinels (and the island of Genosha).

I for some reason don't think we'll see Sentinels at all. We saw the head in the danger room sequence at the start of X3. We know Project Wideawake was in Stryker's database...I guess we could see them in a X4?

Ideally, I'd love two more modern X-Men movies. Basically a two-part movie with some kind of big mutant villain attack (probably from Apocalypse) that leads to a complete crackdown and the creation of the sentinels. It's 11:40 on a sunday, but the thought pops into my head of using Genosha almost as a Guantanamo Bay allegory (along with the typical slavery aspect that's been used in the past). Basically, the governments of the world start sending their mutants there.

Either way, the whole idea would be two parallel storylines. One with the Genosha storyline, which will culminate in Magneto regaining his powers, overthrowing the humans, and setting up a home for mutants. The other, a fight against Apocalypse where the mutants save the day.

Ultimate-style Mojo, with Ultimate Longshot and Ultimate Spiral too.

(Ultimate Mojo is a normal human, though a tubby lardbucket, and he runs a reality TV show from Genosha where mutants are hunted Running Man-style on the neighbouring island, Krakoa. Longshot and Spiral are contestants in it that the X-Men go to rescue. hi-jinks ensue)

Moses Magnum, especially if they set the next film in the 70s.

If Green Lantern is a hit maybe we can get the Shi'ar. Though I cant see how that would work given the themes and setting of the film series,

Looking through the wiki of X-Men foes, I realize that very few are interesting.

A Malice-possessed Dazzler!

The Brood might be interesting...although Fox might be reluctant about that due to the "Alien" franchise. Aren't they similar looking? Maybe it won't be a problem since they own both franchises.

I think Sinister and his Marauders (including Malice possessing one of the Xmen) followed in the Sequel by Apocalypse and his 3 horsemen (including a brainwashed Angel) followed by the Sentinels (including a time travelling visit by Cable).

that'd be better as season 6 of an X-Men TV series after they've introduced X-Factor in season 2, Cable in season 3, X-Force in seaosn 4 and Apocalypse in season 5.
