I loved Lost Girl and Killjoys, and this kind of modern fantasy is one of my favorite genres so I'm pretty excited for this. Looks like it should be a lot of fun.

Michelle Lovretta created those shows. Andras took over from Lovretta as Lost Girl's showrunner in seasons 3-4 and remained onboard as a writer/producer on season 5. She's merely a consulting producer on Killjoys.

I'll give this a couple more episodes but I'm not feeling it after the pilot. The lead is really good though.

A couple reviews I read said you can tell if this will be your kind of show after the first 15 minutes.

I forgot this was on last night, too-- which is bad, because I was just talking about it two days ago. It looks pretty good to me, since I like genre Westerns. I'll try to make time for it tomorrow.

The pilot was weak.

But this was all esttablishing shit they had to get under their belt, explaining the nuts and bolts.

I don't know how I feel about this show. I want to like it, but coming from "Creator of Lost Girl" doesn't sit well with me since Lost Girl lost coherence and basically went mad after season 3.

Actually that's the problem. As I said, it's not from the creator of Lost Girl (Michelle Lovretta), but from the showrunner (Emily Andras) who replaced her for seasons 3 & 4. It's because Lovretta left that the show's character changed. And the fact that Andras was in charge of season 4, which was completely incoherent and barely watchable, does not give me hope about a show Andras created. I haven't even decided yet whether this is worth giving a try.

I watched it Sunday, and I felt like it was a wannbe Sleepy Hollow, but the savior is Jenny Mills.

I'll give it a try once or twice more before I make a decision.

Lost Girl was pathetic by the time it finally staggered to the end. I didn't care much for the first episode of Wynonna Earp but there are some characters who might be interesting.

I think season 5, though mediocre, was better than the disaster of season 4. Which is reassuring, since the season 5 showrunner, Michael Grassi, is now a producer on Supergirl's staff (under showrunner Ali Adler).

Oh, my mistake. In one of the interviews I saw with Andras and the two lead actress, Andras kept talking about what she did on Lost Girl like it was her show, and the previews kept talking about Lost Girl so I thought she was the creator. Sorry about the confusion.

Well, it was her show in seasons 3 & 4. And I'd guess that the previews say something like "From the executive producer of Lost Girl" rather than "From the creator."

^^ Congrats. :bolian:

I still haven't had a chance to finish the first episode, but what I'm hearing doesn't encourage me.

1x02 was that as underwhelming for me as anyone else?

Oh I liked it.

First Episode was horrid.

Are we supposed to know who the sexy stranger is yet?

(IMDB told me, but I'm not sure if I was distracted when the show might have been trying to get my attention.)

They called him Henry in the second episode, but I don't think he ever actually said his name to them. But it's pretty obvious who he is. I don't think it's supposed to be a surprise to the audience.

Luckily for Wyonna this army of the undead will only attack her one or two at a time instead of rushing her all at once.
