I don't know, I think they're probably far enough along at this point that Discovery will be fine until the next season.
 
Weren't all 13 script written before the end of last year?

Or do they mean it could affect the writing of season 2?
 
This could do some serious damage depending on how far along they are with the filming for S1, and it could delay S2. BUT because they are going to the All Access format, they might be able to stuff this under the New Media requirements to give themselves a little leeway. That said, I don't want my favorite writers to starve to death, so I'm hoping they come to an agreement soon.
 
Hopefully the scripts are near completion now, and if it happens - only re-writes and re-shoots would be affected
 
ST09 did pretty good with a writer's strike in the middle of production. They couldn't touch the script and the only spontaneity could come from the actors.
 
Trek and writers strikes go hand in glove. Everything I know about writers strikes and unions and that general kind of crazy, I learned from reading about Trek. There's a ton of ways around it these days. The show must go on.
