Wrath of Khan to be shown in theaters this September

Ten or so years ago I might have been for this, but with the poor spin-off series, bad films, J.J.-verse reboo-bisioning-thingies, and what this new Trek is going to be, I just don't want to plow any money into the franchise to spend on more crap. They've made tire of Trek to a large extent.

Soooo....avoid a perfectly enjoyable and unique experience just because...I don't know...the current franchise position isn't to your liking?

Ok. That's really too bad. Talk about being bitter.

I was down in the dumps about Star Trek in the early 2000's (post-Nemesis and ENT blahs), but I went to the Vegas Star Trek Experience, I continued to buy merchandise and DVD's or whatever, etc. I guess you could say I'm "part of the problem" as you perceive it...but that's not how I look at it. I love Star Trek. I have no problem spending my money on Star Trek...I simply avoid the few elements I don't enjoy.

Not sure why you'd deprive yourself of an enjoyable experience for $8 just to somehow spite the current powers that be. That seems self-defeating to say the least.

At the end of the day, Paramount and CBS see money. If Trek wasn't a profitable franchise, it would have gone dormant. Giving them money is a way of saying: Keep up the good work!

Sorry, your nostalgia is driving you way too much.

Not if I don't feel the same way about current state as you do.

And, oh by the way, if feeding my love of nostalgia makes me happy...I don't agree that it's "driving me too much."

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a pretty bad movie, but I just spent $8 for a ticket to go see Last Crusade last Thursday at a local theater with 4 friends and had a blast! To not spend money on something I want to do just to satisfy the illusion that my absence will send a message about the current state of the franchise is, by my mind, flawed and self-punishing policy.

But- I'm honestly not trying to argue with you (really). If you feel that strongly, that's definitely ok and it's for you to make that determination. It's not for some irritant like me to convince you otherwise!

:)

I'm going to be first in line, probably on multiple occasions while it's in theaters!

Kor

A small theater around me does a retro rewind movie night once a month on saturdays. i've seen raiders, robocop, arm of darkness and a few others..... temple of doom is august 19th. its going to be great.

and i would STILL see crystal skull in the theaters again. I'm never gonna bitch about Indy. Bring on part 5!

Oooh, it actually is playing around here! I'll see it at least once!

(kinda wish it was a marathon with TSFS and TVH, but I'll take it)
I would have loved the three movies playing!

I remember being at the 1991 marathon, which had everything up to and including TFF. In between each film, they played the trailers for TUC (alternated the montage one, and unveiled the theatrical one). That was all in one day!
