Would you tell Quark your Problems? Or Would you Talk to Troi?

Tyjos Azari

Well just watching "Captive Pursuit" and the part where Quark goes up to O'brien wondering what his problem is.....

So that makes me wonder....would you tell him your problems over a glass of Synthehol?

Or Try to find a Starfleet Counselor?

It would depend on the problem and if I felt more like being conned into buying something or being psychoanalyzed...actually, I don't think I'd ever rather be psychoanalyzed, so I'd rather talk to Quark.

It depends. I'd probably rather talk to Quark, but not if I wanted something kept secret. It also depends on who the Starfleet counselor was. I might talk to Ezri, but I don't think I'd be able to tolerate Troi's sessions.

I'd talk to Quark, he always has valuable and interesting insights about life.

Can't say the same about Troi or any SF counselor.

Hmm...

Quark might offer a better solution....
Plus if it's related to women, well he might let you select some "Special" Holosuite programs" to deal with that. Or He'd find a Orion Slave girl to help out....

I doubt Troi would offer herself as part of that sort of thing....lol...

I didn't find either of them particularly strong at giving advice, but I think Quark was better. I'd rather talk to Guinan, though. Out of all the people who helped others with their problems, I think she was consistently the best listener with the best advice.

True, she always seemed to be much better than any star fleet counselor.

Depends on the problem, but I think I´d rather talk to Troy than Quark. However I agree with TooMuchFun that Guinan would be the best to talk too.

If the problem was rather minor, I might talk about it to Quark to blow off some steam, but I'd rather just talk with a friend.

If it was an actual, psychological issue, I'd talk with the professional therapist with a real degree, thank you...

That's exactly what I was going to say. I'd go to Quark, since I don't think Troi remotely resembles a competent counselor. If I was forced to see one, I'd see Ezri.
