Would you prefer the flash-sideways of Season 6 to be replaced by...

Joe Washington

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Flashbacks of Jacob's past on the Island over the many, many years leading up to his demise? Jacob's campfire talk to Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sawyer would have brought those flashbacks to an end, leaving the series finale to be focused completely on the present.

Yes and no. I absolutely loved the resolution to the flash-sideways in the finale, but I think they were very unfocused in the earlier episodes of the season. It took too long for them to have any kind of meaning. At the very least, I think Jacob and MiB should have had another episode or two detailing their backstory. That one episode just wasn't quite enough for me.

I'm not sure about this. I don't think we need to know about the time the MIB got married then got divorced, or when Jacob became so desperate that he decided to advertise nappies for coconuts, or when Mother joined a hippy commune on the Island and was found out by a mole in the ranks, or when MIB then joined a monastery and got drunk off communal wine or....

You get the idea. It might have ended up as being far worse.

That said, I might prefer if the flash-sideways were replaced with several short stories such as this:

That was hilarious! That was so cool that they filmed that!

That was indeed very funny...was that on Jimmy Kimmel?

Hell no. Flashsideways were the best thing about season 6. I always found them far more interesting than the Island stuff, which became tiresome with the Jacob/Smokey good/evil duality (even though I liked getting their backstory, which, for once, was not as black and white).
