Would you be excited for a "Dinner with Andre" style Trek movie with Bashir and Garak?

I know it would never happen but if Trek really wants to think outside of the box and all these new shows are hits then I think it would be a good idea. A niche movie that appeals to just a small group of fans and serves as a campanion show to something more mainsteam. I think everyone like it when they ate together and you could simply set it years after the "DS9" final were they are meeting for the first time in years to talk about life and art and so forth.

I have been fairly disappointed by the JJ Trek ones; I'm not into big action flicks with a villain. Now THIS I could enjoy. Garak is my all-time favorite Trek character. That show was so generous in what they gave their extended cast to do and be. Just saw one with Gul Dukat. Stole the show. Great actor.

I've not seen the original Andre movie. I'd like a conversation where they are both recounting the same event in flashbacks or dialog and it seems very different depending on the teller.

Yes, yes and yes.
Especially if it was filmed in black and white set during one of Julian's secret agent programs. Bashir having forgotten his dinner date with Garak, Garak interrupts the good doctor's play time so they can have meal and a very long chat.

It wouldn't work because neither Bashir nor Garek could fill the Wallace Shawn role; they both like to talk too much.
