I was reading this article on the noticeably poor CGI in Black Panther and the reasoning behind it, and it reminded me of a very brief but noticeably weak shot in the otherwise visually-excellent Star Trek Beyond, where we get a close-up of the Kelvin Pods launching from the bridge:
Featuring especially dodgy bump-mapping (or whatever they call it these days) and a weirdly distorted bridge behind the window. Another weak shot was the quick glimpse of Kirk running through an overly-shiny CG version of the saucer plaza from Into Darkness on his way to separate the saucer.
Did anyone else notice any noticeably poor CG in the Kelvin Trek movies?
