I really like this two part episode. I think it's one of the best "ensemble" episodes in all of Trek. Every cast member gets something to do and it all fits together perfectly. I think it benefited from being in season 7; all the character moments, both big and small, added up over the series run and the chemistry amongst the crew was on full display in this episode.

Any other fans?

One of my favorite Voyager episodes. I think the premise worked better than the resolution, but it forced Chakotay and Kim to be interesting for a second and it showed us some other sides of the characters.

It's weird but old Original Series episodes or any kind of science fiction episode where the 'family' cast is away from their safe place (say Voyager) I usually resist. I even worry with Doctor Who if I think he/she can't make it back to the Tardis. I enjoyed Workforce and kind of liked the Harry and the Doctor (our EMH) getting all competitive with each other.

Would you mind clarifying? What about it bothers you?

It's an insecurity thing. Like a bad dream where you're trying to get somewhere and you can't.

I never thought the episode was too implausible, enjoyed Janeway's romance plot with Jaffen and also enjoyed the doctor and Kim arguing over who was in command.

I always liked this episode.

The problem with plausibility is that it seems like their solution to their labor shortage was a lot more work and more cost than other better solutions to the same problem. Just giving potential laborers more money and better benefits is cheaper than kidnapping and mind controlling people.

I think they needed highly/wanted, technically skilled workers. Starship crews might be prime pickins for that.

It wasn't the whole society or government that was using this method, but a small group that was doing it for their own personal gain, like the corrupt administrator and whoever was paying him. So it was like a mafia racket, or money making scheme.

When the governor(or whoever, the government) discovered the scheme, everyone was immediately repatriated(if that word works here).

I always wonder if there were people on Voyager who would have wanted to stay. Were there people who didn't have family in the Alpha Quadrant? People who were tired of the dangers of the delta quadrant? People who fell in love with someone on this planet?

Indeed. They might not have wanted to in the beginning but after all that, no one threw in the towel?

I'd want nothing to do with the place after having been brain washed to work in a power plant.

This is a solid episode though and I did like that it gave the entire cast something to do. I kind of wished Jaffen had stayed on board too. Janeway deserved a little companionship and he seemed a stand up guy. He'd have fit in well with the crew.

Excellent point. I don't know how I quickly over looked that. I like Jaffen. He stood in the way of my JC hopes. LOL. But I can appreciate him now.

If he had stayed Janeway would have ended their romantic relationship. Without that there is no real reason for him to stay.

We know. It is just nice to think about it. I wanted Amelia earheart to stay but really...how long would that thrill last?
