Woodstock - Summer of 69'

With the 40th anniversary fast approaching did anyone here attend the actual event?
Do you have any stories to share about this tumultuous summer?
Have you ever visited the Woodstock Monument in Bethel, NY?
What was your favorite performance from Woodstock.

Everybody who hasn't should check out the movie.

My summer place in near Bethel, so I've been there quite a few times. I recommend it to all and hey give me a shout if you're in the area!

I was 11 that summer and a little further upstate (Rome) so I only just missed going

It is a gorgeous site, though. We saw Heart, Journey, Cheap Trick there on a beautiful August afternoon last year.

Yeah they redid the whole place...isn't it spectacular? They have a wonderful farmers market (and a whole slew of other attractions) in the fall on weekends and they opened the museum I think last summer. I have to check that out..haven't gone there myself yet!
