I would hope that the couple who the baby was turned over to will let the birth mother, and her family, keep in contact with the child.

Damn, "Private Practice" is using that as a plot device...I figured it had to have some basis in fact.

I had the same thought when I heard the story on the news! If it hadn't been an NBC news broadcast, I would have thought it was a plug for the season premiere of "Private Practice."

It is sad that this woman won't be able to carry another pregnancy to term and now has to look for a surrogate of her own.

Unlike Private Practice, this is being settled a lot more calmly and reasonably.
