WIP - BBS-3777 LONG-RANGE STARLINER

Well, if the site was any indicator, the majority of the ship was devoted to quarters, hallways, and hangars with a few "interesting" rooms here and there. All for "tactical" purposes OFC, but this makes me think it was similar to a TNG Warbird in that regard. What I would like to see, is more of the Well's class [common, its only the best ship EVER, discounting the Ent-J] and all we see is the transporter room??? Ooh, and the detailed or cuaway of the Aurora-class from SGA.

^You did a lineage for one of the worst cars ever made?

No, the Abbe class's descendants. I probably should have said PT Destroyer, but I was sort of in a hurry at the time.

As for AIs, on one hand, it seems inevitable in eventuality, but on the other hand, they did sort of try to do that with the M-5, which had unacceptable results.

I think it depends on when Starfleet feels that they can reliably create self-aware computer systems that won't harm anything they don't want it to (due to it being against it's nature), or even if that will ever happen.

Then there is Lore... Even with Data being in pretty much every sense a success, past failures in that respect loom over the idea.

I don't think I need to say that if an AI decides to turn against the crew, the ship could become a deathtrap.

I think I read a story about that happening...USS Discovery, NCC-9000, under the command of Captain Dave Bowman, if I recall correctly... ;-)

Actually, they're still in business...as a railway company:

I hope they one day take to the skies again...

Well, I'm no expert in the field of aviation, but I don't think they're gonna get these things too far off the ground.

:)

You've never seen Galaxy Express 9999?
You just gave me a thought that made me smile. Captain James T. Kirk meets Captain Harlock. Just imagine the adventure that would ensue.

You mean the one where the computer shut off life support? Never heard of it. ;)
Incidentally, the starship Shepard is listed under NCC-9000.

planet express... interesting idea, but if it ever meets even a D-10 Klingon ship, that train would be roast duck.

Your art just prompted a redesign of my ships. Good thing too, mine were looking ugly.
