It may surprise some to learn that there is, in fact, a real-life Château Picard:

But there are also actual product tie-ins to STAR TREK, such as Romulan Ale, as a for instance:

What experience have you with various STAR TREK themed liquors and what were your impressions on these fine beverages?

None, unfortunately. But I'd like to know how a Warp Core Breach or a Black Hole tastes. Never had a rootbeer either, but Nog would be the right kind of guy to have a drink with.

I like root beer.

I have a can of Romulan Ale in the fridge.

I drink whiskey.

I always thought Tranya would be like flat orange soda.

People complain about Cardassian kanar being different from episode to episode. If kanar is a generic word like wine, then there is no problem.

Have vivid memories of Jason Carter coming onstage Sunday afternoon at the Denver Star Trek convention and asking what was in the Blood Wine, because he had woken up at the police station and had no idea why.

We told him it was alcohol. When he asked which kind, we said "All of them." He said "Oh. That explains it."

One of my roommates and I made Romulan ale about 20 years ago... never knew they had actually marketed a drink with the name.

...pretty much as much vodka as a person can tolerate diluted slightly with Blue Curacao and maybe a little seltzer. Bam!
If we had been able to get our hands on grain alcohol the effect might have been devastating!

STAR TREK wine (!!!) is apparently available ...

The question remains: will it develop your palate ... or destroy it???
Dude, that stuff looks excellent... I love me a good red wine. too bad alcohol is illegal to ship (if purchased online anyway) to the state i live in. I'll have to check the local booze warehouse, though I doubt they have this esp. since it may have been d/c since that piece came out.

I must be Frank & Ernest:
I'm fearful of allowing any official STAR TREK themed beverages past my lips. As Hodin told Kirk in The Mark of Gideon ...
"It is against our tradition, against our very nature. We simply could not do it."

For use with Carrots Braised in Beer and Carrot Juice, however, cooking with Star Trek Vulcan Ale - Genesis Effect (brewed by the Shmaltz Brewing Company) might just do the trick:

Woah, those wine owners might want to be careful lest they all burn to death in a fire. And then there will be no more Picards.

I've had several cases of the beers from the Federation of Beers guys: http://www.federationofbeer.com/brews I assume they're officially licensed, the beers are ok but the marketing and packaging really tickles my fancy, there's something nice about having large beer boxes that say "star trek" on the sides, lol
