Window of Opprotunity-What you'd do with it....

Its helpfull to watch the Season 4 Episode of SG1 titled 'Window of Opprotunity'
Otherwise this thread will be hard to follow.
After watching said episode I'm inspired to pose this question;

If you were in that situation and had to repeat yesterday over and over again, what crazy insane things would you do knowing there wouldn't be consequences ?

And it has to be yesterday,Friday the 19th.Not christmas or your birthday lol

Ill start off by quitting my job by literally leveling the building (either by fire or a wrecking ball),but not before taking every POS computer, printer, and ream of paper and starting the largest suburban bonfire in history.

That done, ill top speed my car on the interstate to Chicago, where ill write more bad checks than Abignale to pay for an awesome night on the town .

Yeah,I'm bad. What would you do with your Friday time-loops?

Me, I know this UPS driver that I would kick the Snot out of for the first ten loops.:klingon: Then I would work on the more romantic bit with this girl I know, but unlike jack I'de give that a lot more loops!

I'm too much of a 'be good for goodness sake' kind of guy. So I wouldn't be doing anything crazy. And a day at a time wouldn't be enough to take some courses and become a genius in every field.

I'd probably find a guy who really annoyed me and beat the crap out of him.

Oh and play the lottery before fixing the loop so I could keep the money.

Ah, but you wouldnt know youre in the loop-until youre in the loop. By then you can play the lottery, even win,but youd never get the money before the loop repeated.

Hence him saying:

Ah,but the point of the thread is to describe what you'd do if you were in Jack and Tealc's situation of being caught in a time loop, not one you have warning to prepare for.

Winning the lotto/robbing a bank/selling stocks before YOU fix the loop doesn't count,as(to repeat) Jack and Tealc didn't control or know they were in a loop until they were in it.

Hmm, if I were stuck in a loop today it would kind of suck. We're practically snowed in.

One of the first things I'd do, assuming that death in a loop simply means you wake up in bed again to repeat it:

1. Take the car on the hwy at 3am and see how fast I can go.

2. Just pick a chick and get layed like in Ground Hog day. Use a couple of days to gather intel on a hot random chick and eventually land her in bed. Everyone would do this though I think (most guys anyway lol). Or even pick a hot hooker and do her, it's not like the STD's are going to stick the "next" day lol.

3. I'd probably start gathering intel on criminals. I'd probably die a few times between loops while doing this, but the pay off would be when I have so much intel on them that I hit them with surgical strikes and they don't even know what the heck is going on.

4. Start playing those instant win tickets every day in every store I can find, keeping track of the winners (hoping to break out of the loop some day)

If I am destined to stay stuck in a loop forever though I'd probably just effectively retire. Rent every movie I want to see, read every book in every library. Buy a plane ticket in the morning to all kinds of destinations and fly there to arrive in the afternoon hopefully and enjoy some sights. Once I've done it all, just start from the beginning again and repeat lol.

I don't understand your point.

Jack and Teal'c didn't know they were in a loop until they were, they did all sorts of fun stuff, then managed to fix it.

Hartzilla2007 wants to play the lottery, win, then fix the loop in an identical Jack/Teal'c manner.

I don't get the confusion?

I wouldn't do anything that I'd regret too much, seeing as I have no idea when the loop will end. Finding out the winning scratch card or lottery number sounds like a good bet, though doing this every single loop may get tiring after a while.

Well, it kind of depends on there being a lottery drawing before you loop back. And also on the butterfly effect failing to change the results of the drawing every time. If the results are consistent, though, there's nothing to stop you from buying a winning ticket on your last loop, right before you fix things.

So many thing to do that I wouldn't know where to begin. Go shopping, waste money gambling, having fun with some really cute guys... Even just enjoy the little things in life..like going to the beach, taking a picnic to the park, smelling the roses, etc..

With my luck, I'd probably be ill on the looping day. :(

From what I saw, you would have recovered given enough loops. O'Neill and Teal'c appeared to exist normally through the loops.

There's a difference between memories and physical condition

That is something I would always wonder...did Jack and/or Teal'c ever get sleepy? Granted, perhaps their bodies "reset", but mentally, they were awake for three months (or however long the Tokra said they didn't have contact with Earth). Surely that would place a strain on their mental capacities.

Then again, maybe their mental capacities "reset" as well...in which case that would be a major "what-the-fuck?" experience.

Well, they could remember what they learned each loop, so some aspect of their pysche is excluded from the time loop's *erase* process.Id imagine their need for sleep is , temporarily suspended, as they started the loop as awake.Unless its custom to start an Air Force duty shift drowsy.

They can remember what took place, but not the tiredness or the physical consequences of the previous loop, as when it resets the previous loop is 'undone'.

Hmm. Probably spend one day staking out a casino to get game results. Then go back in and bet on all the right things. Take the money. Buy a really fast car and go for a ride in the countryside. Or hop a plain to some nearby European city I've never been to. Get high. Get laid. When I get the thought to punch random people on the street, actually do it. Fun things.
