William Shatner Confirms Talks for Star Trek Return at 93 Years Old

 He got THROWN from a wild horse? At 95??

Holy shit! Well, I’m glad he’s still with us, then. I still remember what happened to poor Christopher Reeve in a similar situation back in ‘95, wheelchair-bound and broken for about 10 years before he sadly died. And he was a lot younger and in better shape than Shatner is now.

Nothing short of miraculous this time, really.

William Shatner is a personal hero of mine. His work and life has had a huge and personal impact on me. James T. Kirk is, in my opinion, the greatest science fiction character in the history of the genre and one of the greatest characters in all of fiction.

All of that said: I don't trust any of the "writers" and/or "producers" working today to get something this momentous right. In my head canon, James T. Kirk retired from Starfleet, had a lot of adventures we'll never know about, maybe even had a family, and then one day went to the Undiscovered Country. I don't need to see more.

Especially not from what I saw on the cruise. He, Koenig and Takei are pretty much retired from Star Trek.

And even after he went to the Undiscovered Country, there was this thing with a bald British dude, the guy from A Clockwork Orange, and Ferris Bueller's best friend.

Well, if Ron Moore can't be trusted with the great and powerful Kirk then who can you trust?

Shatner's not been in Star Trek for 32 years. I don't think anyone expects that to change.
He was in that Snapchat filter short (actually Sam "Bloomsday" Witmer) on the Roddenberry Archive, which was a sweet send off for Kirk and Spock.

But for the love of Science, let that be it. He don't need a Trek version of AI young Luke Skywalker.

Shatner's likeness was in it, not the Shat himself.

After TUC, Spock helped Sarek with the Klingons and then became a full ambassador himself. McCoy took over Starfleet Medical. Chekov became Sulu's XO and then captain of the Enterprise-B. Uhura became captain of one of the then-new Constellation Class starships until she was promoted to admiral. Scotty traveled for a few years before accepting a promotion to admiral in detached service with the Starfleet Corps. of Engineers.

As for James T. Kirk, he saw Captain Chekov off with the rest their former shipmates, bought a Syndey Class starship, and took to the stars. He occasionally helped with the establishment of colonies since he himself lived in one for a time, but the particulars of his adventures, as well as his ultimate fate, remain unknown to most in Picard's time.

This is my head canon.

Er, no he didn't. After GEN he was caught in a transporter buffer for 75 years.

Just curious where that is from. I was wondering, too, so I looked up the year for Generations again (2293 -- same year the A was decommissioned). Memory Alpha says that was a year before the Jenolan. Hard to pin down that Jenolan trip date and how long the Jenolan traveled before the incident where Scotty put himself into the transporter.

Not being contrary, I really don't know.
