Will they ever bring back Legends?

Me and a friend have been discussing this; with all the hullabaloo around TLJ and Solo. Do you think that Lucasfilm will ever print a new Legends book.
He is the big fan while I read some of them and found the whole thing just as much miss as hit personally. Anyway my current theory is that we might get one depending on the state of the franchise after episode IX has landed. Please note I'm not talking about scrapping the current continuity, treat it like an ultimate universe or like the animated shows are to the movies/comics, or even bringing out a film/show set in the old expanded universe just a book and or comic. It might appease some of the more vocal "critics" of the new universe and surely couldn't/wouldn't cost that much to bring out a new book or two and thus is pretty much free money for the house of mouse.

I don't think so- not the way you are describing, anyway.

I've always been sort of torn on the SW EU. While there were some gems in there, notably Zahn's and Stackpole's stuff (IMHO), much of it was pure dreck. Especially the various series that used multiple authors within one storyline- more than half those books seemed to end up being needless filler, and those series as a whole just weren't very good. The biggest impediment to the whole thing was that at the end of the day, the main characters always sort of had to finish up where they started.

You know what's even cheaper? Re-printing the Legends material, making it available for any who are interested in an alternate take on things. Which they're already doing. That's the Mouse's free money right there.

An actual continuation of the Legends storylines ain't happening.

It's highly doubtful we will get more Legends new material IMO. It is telling though that they are reprinting Legends material and the Legends novels are still on the book shelves, so Disney/Lucasfilm hasn't completely erased that stuff. But who's to say that they won't revisit some of the more popular Legends characters? But like they have done with Thrawn, I see them more than likely just adjusting Legends characters, planets, species, events to fit the new canon more than a continuation of the Legends line. I could also see them continuing to make toys of Legends characters.

It would be cool to get an anthology or some short stories in Star Wars magazine for say the anniversary of the NJO or something.

Personally I can't see them not using Mara Jade and Darth Revan due to their popularity at some point. Others I wonder if they've revive are the Solo kids, Ben Skywalker, Darth Talon, Darth Malgus, Bastila Shan, Dash Rendar, Lumiya, Vestara Khai, Abeloth, Admiral Daala, Prince Xizor,

^^I wouldn't expect Dash Rendar or Prince Xizor, Pablo allegedly has a hate-on for Shadows of the Empire. Likewise, he's pretty condescending towards KOTOR, so don't expect anything from there anytime soon.

Wasn't Admiral Daala's whole thing being she was the only woman in the Imperial military who had a meaningful rank? The new canon has already given us plenty of female Captains and Admirals in the Imperial military, so the thing that made her unique is no longer applicable.

The Solo kids and Ben Skywalker most certainly won't be showing up, and I'll be very surprised if Mara Jade ever returns. Hell, didn't Rebels already use the term "Emperor's Hand" in relation to someone else?

I can't really see them bringing back the Legends EU, there's still way to much to do with he new canon.
That doesn't really mean anything. Star Trek has four novels that were written completely eight years ago that have never been published and likely never will.
One of the writers, David Mack, actually hinted a while back that there was a chance we might actually get his book.
