Will the Vulcan Extremists appear in this season? They were mentioned in the episode ''Point of Light'' and since this season deals with Spock and this movement is part of the reason Michael and Spock had a falling out.

I'm sure there will be further mention. A Plot or B Plot level involvement? Probably that as well.

The big question is, what rank does Sybok hold in the organization?

Maybe Sybok has infiltrated them for his own insidious purposes.

They won the election and run the planet and ordered all Vulcans off Federation ships which explains why only Spock was on the Enterprise for decades.

I don't know if there's any place for it in the second season but I'd like to see a follow-up to the Vulcan Extremists. In the novel Spock's World, they push for secession from the Federation. It would be an interesting thing to show the growing discontent some Vulcans might have about an illogical/chaotic Federation.

And it would add something to the Vulcans so they're more than just "the intellectual puppets" of the Federation. Maybe someone like Sarek is everything those Vulcan Extremists want to be the opposite of.

It would be interesting if they had some connection to V'Las family or clan, they would only be about 100 years old or a bit older.

yep, that doesn't mean Sybok is not part of them at this point of time.
there are numerous instances of right-wing anti-muslim extremists who later converted to Islam and some of them even joined ISIS.
They're extremists first and foremost, ideology is sometimes irrelevant.

Logic Extremists sounds like the name of a WWE tag team.

I meant an appearance in the flesh, not just a mention.

So the Vulcan Logic Extremists are to Section 31 as the USS Intrepid was to Starfleet, their own little sub-Section?

It wouldn't surprise me if the Logic Extremists, were also in pursuit of Spock at the moment, especially if whatever he is looking for is a threat to their vision of what a logical and orderly galaxy should look like. It was mentioned by Burnham that Spock was a target for extremist violence when they were kids. I feel like that may have been set up for a confrontation later in the season.

Our weapon is surprise! Surprise and logic. Logic and surprise. Our TWO weapons are surprise, logic and ruthless efficiency. Ah...amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as surprise, logic, ruthless efficiency and an almost fanatical devotion to Surak...I'll come in again.
