the allegories in Trek were never ever subtle. I've been on this BBS since Voy was on the air. Many times over the years, I've seen people on here saying Trek is often 'heavy handed'.

TOS and TNG have many episodes which are as subtle as a brick to the face.

Yup. People act like Trek was this deep and subtle work that caused meditative contemplations.

It was often in your face and bombastic. People just liked the characters so ignored the presentation.

Folks will see Bele and Lokai and still go on about how TOS was subtle about its messaging.

Like, c’mon. Really? That’s about as subtle as a brick through a stain glass window.

I was fine with "Prelude...", it was a format that Trek hadn't tackled before. The non-sense that happened after that will forever soil anything else they do.

Star Trek Continues? I lost any and all interest when the girlfriend was added as ship's counselor. Star Trek: New Voyages/Phase II? Could be fun from time to time.

That's fine. It was still popular. The set is now a popular museum destination. Pretty sweet.

But both are fan produced. I hear Axanar will be finished soon. I like the period uniforms.

Personally, I loved the hell out of Continues. I even backed a few of their Kickstarter/Indiegogo campaigns over the years.

I sadly later came to regret that somewhat when I learned about the sex pest that is Vic Mignogna, however. These days, it's a little difficult to separate him from the series to attempt a rewatch.
