Will Star Trek 13 Have A Chinese Character?

Given that the Chinese market had the strongest opening weekend outside the US, it could very well indicate it will end up as number two worldvide. This is a new situation for Trek, which generally has been most popular in the English-speaking world.

Do you think Paramount will ask Abrams and his team to include a Chinese character played by some well-known Chinese actor or actress?

Or maybe give Sulu more to do?

John Cho is Korean, playing a Japanese, which is similar to China (according to some). So he's SUPER asian.

It won't matter. Star Trek will be racist until they get a real live Vulcan to play Spock.

Vietnamese works. For whatever reason, the Twin Cities wound up with the largest post-war Hmong community in the US. So growing-up I pretty much ran into them every where. The girls were all absolutely stunning.
