Will Season 6 be the final season of Supernatural?

Do you think Season 6 is going to be SPN's final season? Jensen and Jared do have a six-year contract and they did talk about how this show is taking time away from their loved ones.

If you think Season 6 won't be the final season, how do you feel about the show going on past this season? The more, the merrier or doomed for disaster?

Pretty sure it has already been stated that this will be the final season. I still think they should have finished up last season.

I think this is the last season. It's unfortunate because despite some beliefs to the contrary I can see them continuing on doing more. Defeating Lucifer and stopping the Armageddon is a big thing, maybe the biggest thing for Christianity but that still leaves other deities and other "end of the world" scenarios they can prevent. We've already seen them reference this in season 5 but I also see the danger treading into that territory.

It does get old and rehashed so maybe this season should be their burn down time to finish off the story in a more final sense. Both Sam and Dean have already died a few times each and suffered immensely so perhaps this season ends the series with them living happily ever after or going to their final death in a fiery blaze of glory and ass-kicking.

However the show ends, it should end with the brothers together, not apart which is the way Season 5 ended.

I didn't like the idea that they would have one die the horrible death/eternal damnation and the other live the good life and go on to heaven (presumably) like that. Whatever happens to them I think it will happen to both of them.

Season 5 was the finale season for me. Weak storylines and repetitive plotting will do that to a loyal viewership.

Even that was watched as a minimized box in a corner of the screen while I was doing other things. It just DID NOT deserve any more attention from me, than that.

This show is well and truly DONE and out-stayed its welcome.

Actually, Jensen and Jared have extended their contracts to seven seasons. This year might not be the last for Supernatural. If the CW wants seven seasons, they'll do seven seasons.

The only shows that they have that get good ratings are Vampire Diaries, Smallville, and Supernatural. Seeing as Smallville is ending this year, the CW would be foolish to get rid of this show. I don't have a problem with the show going on for another year as long as the writing is good.

Maybe they can pull a Dukes of Hazzard and have a pair of previously-unseen cousins take over the Impala while Sam and Dean walk off into the sunset? Coy and Vance Winchester, anyone? ;)

Given what we learned in the season six premier, they will probably be named Coy and Vance Campbell.

:)

That would be a terrible idea. The series revolves around the brothers' relationship. Replacing Sam and Dean with two new characters is like replacing Goren and Eames with two new detectives and we know how that went.

I heard Jensen talking about this at a con back in June and he said he would be surprised if CW let both Supernatural and Smallville finish this year.

They probably won't let Supernatural finish this year but Smallville is certain to end. All the commercials for it announce it's the final season. It would be odd to back out now. They'll probably do a spin off next season though.
