When TREK movies were in their glory days, Khan through Final Frontier, I would be the one who would rope friends and family in to see the movie, sometimes (in the case of FRONTIER) by gun point...

Will I do it for TREK XI??? Will I set up a giant family get together (with a whole new generation of neices and nephews) for this occaision?

Yes..I think I will.. and why? I could never sell them on a movie with Picard and company...KIRK will sell them on it alone...but will they tar and feather me when they realize its an all new younger crew of actors playing Kirk and company? All depends if the movie sucks or not...

Will you be the cowboy of the group and rope everyone in???

No, I'm still trying to convince them that Khan is better than Raiders.

I've found that dragging people to movies (whether by verbal persuasion, rope, gun, or other means) doesn't usually work all that well, and usually ends in a bad time for all. If they want to see it, they'll see it. If they don't, they don't.

I couldn't disagree more...We had great times when I roped them in to see KHAN--SEARCH FOR SPOCK--VOYAGE HOME, and other movies of the time...Though, I have found that the quality of the movie has a great deal to do with that...Waterworld almost ruined my family!

Well, different people have different experiences. Last time I roped someone to a movie, it was my younger brother and I took him to see Nemesis. It took him five years, but he finally got his revenge, when he subjected me to Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
