    Not a chance.

Research with lab animals has shown that the only proven way to significantly extend you lifetime is to cut back on your average intake of food.

    By at least 50%.

Almost impossible for a normal human to do. Just try eating the right foods, getting your required vitamins and minerals AND doing it on at most 1200 calories per day.

And even that only lengthens your average lifespan by about 25%.

So, if you were genetically predisposed to live until the age of 80, cutting your caloric intake might get you to 100.

It's possible that some people alive today will survive to the 24th Century, but not through a healthy lifestyle. The upper limit of the Human lifespan is probably around 120. Beyond that, some sort of technological intervention will be needed.

Personally, I would choose the 22nd and steal a time ship from an alien and go into the 24th that way.

I believe that with healthy eating and taking the right kinds of health tablets and tonics that it may be possible to live to the age of 140. That's my goal BTW.

Just live long enough for the nanobots that constantly repair the human body and you can probably live forever.

I attended a lecture by a genetics professor from Ohio State, I'd guess about 10-15 years ago, who said that anyone who makes it to 2020 will live forever.

His email sig was "OSU Molecular Genetics: we MAKE friends!"

While longevity would be nice, for myself I'm more interested in custom bodywork. I'd like to look like Drew Barrymore.

^ Which is what I've been saying for a while now, with the Singularity coming.

Not sure about the 24th Century, but I'd like to,live a hell of alot longer than three score and ten - if that;s true, it's nearly all over for me!

Either we'll hit the Singularity and trascend into our mind children, or we'll figure out how to end cellular death and live forever, barring accidents, physically.

Probably within fifty years, we'll know one way or the other.
