Wil Wheaton to guest star on "The Big Bang Theory" on Oct. 19th

I was going to ask if Wheaton was playing himself but the article confirmed he is indeed playing himself.

Sheldon's nemesis, eh? I'm guessing Sheldon holds a huge grudge against him for his portrayal of Wesley Crusher. :)

I'm thinking grudge cause he was "accomplished" at such a young age. Thereby a nemesis to Sheldon's genius.
I'm going with the Sheldon not separating Wheaton from Crusher angle here.

I´m looking forward to it.
i also enjoyed the most recent episode tremendously. The best one in a while and with the BBT that means a lot!
Still laughing at Sheldon failing at the finger thing. :guffaw:

I will be sure to catch this one! Sheldon and Wil should be a thing of beauty to behold. A clown sweater would be epic, but that's probably too much to hope for.

A spoiler-filled synopsis of the episode's plot has popped up on TVGuide.com:

http://www.tvguidemagazine.com/keck...-guest-stars-on-the-big-bang-theory-2686.html

I won't post the text here for those avoiding spoilers.

That's hardly a "spoiler-filled synopsis". It's just an explanation of the backstory for why Sheldon hates Wil Wheaton.

After seeing how some people around here over-react to knowing ANY details about plotlines, that's a spoiler-filled synopsis.

I was lucky enough to go see this filmed at the studio in Los Angeles. It's a great episode. Seeing Sheldon and Wil face off was great! Sorry, I won't spoil any more of the episode than that.

Does anyone else think that the show has lost something since Penny and Leonard became a couple? Wasn't it funnier when Leonard's life was off-balance because he wanted the girl but couldn't seal the deal?

I'm glad they didn't drag it out too long. I think the show is inherently funny enough that it can survive natural character evolution.

I don't feel that way. Its still so new that more things like Penny being there and making french toast on oatmeal day are still funny and organic to the characters.
Could it reach that point sure(see Jim&Pam on The Office) but its not yet, still too early.

No, it has not lost anything. On the contrary.
It gets extremely annoying and stops being funny when in shows they keep inventing stupid situations to keep people apart.

It's a good thing they decided to move forward, let the characters evolve and make them a couple.
