She should cut her hair short, and bleach it platinum blonde, so it's neither her nor the gf's natural colour. Tell the bf she got bored and wanted to change her look. Then if he doesn't like it, she gets a wig with old look. He'll be totally confused and write off as something girls do that guys never understand.
